Getting faster at word search

The word search as we know it is a fairly recent invention — Norman E. Gibat published the first one in an Oklahoma newspaper in 1968, and the format spread fast because it needs no rules explanation: you already know what a hidden word looks like the moment you see the grid.

A faster way to search: instead of scanning the whole grid at once, pick one word from the list and hunt only for its first letter, checking each match for the second letter before committing to a direction. Diagonal words are the ones people miss most often, so if you're stuck near the end, those are usually where the last word or two is hiding.

Today's grid and theme are generated fresh, so solving it again tomorrow means genuinely new words, not the same list reshuffled.
