A lot of flags look alike because they genuinely borrowed from the same source: the French tricolor of 1789 became a template that dozens of newly independent nations copied afterward, which is why so many flags are just three vertical or horizontal stripes in different colors.
The classic mix-ups are famous for a reason — Chad and Romania are both a blue-yellow-red vertical tricolor with only a slightly different shade of blue between them, and Monaco's flag is functionally identical to Indonesia's, just a different width-to-height ratio. Color alone won't save you on those; look for the exact proportions or any small emblem instead.
Five flags a day means the same handful of tricky look-alikes come back into rotation regularly — a good way to actually learn to tell them apart rather than just memorizing one day's answers.
